Hey everyone, today I will share my thoughts on Magnesium and how it has helped me with reducing Migraine Headaches to where I hardly get a Migraine now.
I don’t know about you but I will do anything I can to prevent migraine headaches. I used to get them very often and very bad as well.
A few weeks ago, I started taking Magnesium tablets just so that I would help reduce stress and help my muscles to be more relaxed.
However, I started reading on the container label that in order to prevent migraines, I should take 2 capsules in the morning and 2 capsules at night.
I started taking as per directions and I have not had a Migraine since then (2 weeks now with no Migraines!).
Most of the time the migraine would wake me up at 4am and I remember thinking….”Oh no…I am going to have a horrible day today”.
For me personally, when I get a migraine, it triggers nausea and vomiting. Taking panadol or Nurofen does nothing for me, in fact if I drink water alone, my stomach will not hold it in and I will throw up.
I end up vomiting 3-4 times and have to lay down, close my eyes and just hope to feel better soon.
I can tell for sure when it is a migraine because pain killers don’t work and I get nausea and vomiting.
As you can see in the image below, a headache is usually not localized, pain killers will help get rid of a headache and nausea and vomiting is not associated with headaches.
So if you suffer from Migraines make sure you try Magnesium, it has helped me so much and this is why I am sharing my experience with you.

Today I will write about decluttering your life & home and how it can help improve your mood, mental health and even decrease anxiety and depression.
I personally have experienced anxiety & depression as well as very low, unmotivated mood. I know what it feels like to know in your heart what a certain room in your house, a certain wardrobe in your house, a garage choked full of stuff or a stuffed pantry or fridge feels like… and trust me, it’s not a good feeling!
It feels like it all weighs on my heart and it feels like it’s suffocating me! The thought and image of the cluttered areas in my house or around my house and even the car just fills my chest with anxiety and I feel like I have just lost control and can never gain control of my life again.
These feelings combined together brings on depression and so it is like a vicious cycle. The only way to get rid of all these feelings is to eliminate the root cause: Clutter!
But how? You don’t feel like doing that boring stuff and dealing with years of accumulated baggage and clutter. It is boring, it requires decision making and you just can’t be bothered right?
Well….lets get to the real stuff here. We have to be bothered, we have to get up and do it. We have to ‘eat that frog’ that is consuming the life, energy and happiness out of us. If we don’t, it’s only going to get worse. Do we want worse? No, of course not!!
So lets get to work…
1. Find your ‘why’
Why do you want a clean, clutter-free house? Well just look at your life right now. Are you happy? Are you comfortable? Is your home a place you love to spend time in? Is is serene, peaceful, orderly and clean? Is it nice to feel anxiety and feel like you are being suffocated each time you see the clutter? Believe it or not, it affects your mental health.
The clutter in your life (house, yard, car, phone, even unhealthy thoughts), are all jammed and cramped together in your heart and mind. This causes confusion, fatigue, discouragement, fear, anxiety, costrophobia, sadness and depression. For me….my ‘why’ is getting rid of all these things that crowd my mind and heart so that I will feel happy, free, peaceful, clean, fresh, energeic, motivated and inspire others to do the same. Now that you know my ‘why’, what is your ‘why’? Make sure you write it down and read it daily!
2. Eat the frog first
What does this mean? Well it means to do the most difficult thing/task/cluttered area FIRST. Once you have tackled the most difficult area to de-clutter then you will feel empowered to do the rest because you have done the worst one!
So, make a list of all the areas of your home, around your home, car and anything else that needs to be cleansed and de-cluttered. Number each one from 1 to 3 for example (if you have more than 3 keep going). Put in the number one position the worst area that needs to be de-cluttered…you know…the frog. Then followed by the second worst, third worst and so on.
3. No mercy – your health and happiness is on the line
Read that number 3 again! That’s right, de-clutter with no mercy. This clutter has got you feeling anxious, depressed, down, sad, confused, etc. Do not hold onto it no matter what. Think of it this way…Your clutter can become someone else’s treasure. You will pack it up, take it to goodwill and someone else who couldn’t afford an item in your clutter can now afford to buy it and treasure it!
If you haven’t used something in the last 12 months, it can go. No point laying around in your life, serving no purpose and making you miserable.
4. Only buy a new item if you are going to take the old one to goodwill.
This is a rule I have set for myself. For example, only buy a new quilt cover set if you are going to take the old one to goodwill (unless you need 2). If you have 2 and are buying a third set, get rid of one of the 2 old sets you have at home, no excuses. Only buy a new laundry basket if you will take the old on to goodwill (unless you need 2).
This example goes for ironing boards, irons, fridges, lamps, blankets, bath towels, pans, pots, trays, dinner sets, vases, and things in general that you only need one or 2 in the house.
5. If you haven’t worn it in a year, get rid of it (except special clothing such as bridal dress and your hubby’s groom suit 💗).
De-cluttering your wardrobe is one of the best feelings. All of a sudden you no longer feel confused of what to wear because now that you have de-cluttered, you kept the things you actually wear and have less to choose from. This makes it easier to make a choice!
If you haven’t worn something in the last 12 months, GET RID OF IT!! make it someone else’s treasure! What is the point keeping it in your waedrobe, gathering dust and taking up space? I follow this rule myself 😊
For my everyday clothes, I keep 2 sets of summer clothing and 2 sets of winter clothing for around the house. For smart casual I keep around 2-3 sets and for special occasion I keep around 5 sets and/or dresses. Cardigans and jackets I keep no more than 3-4. Yoi get the picture… 🙂
Do it for youself, do it for your health. Get rid of all the clutter and give your heart and mind room to finally breathe. This will make your house beautiful, fresh, clean and peaceful.
You will suddenly love to spend time in your new peaceful, clean home. You will no longer want to get out of home and go and do ‘more impulse shopping’ just to take your mind off the clutter you have at home or because you needed an item but can’t find it in the clutter so you go off and buy another one.

Well, it’s here again. Another coronavirus (Covid-19) lockdown due to a spike in covid-19 cases in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia and it is said to be the dreaded second wave that has hit our state.
This time we are requested to wear masks when we are outside of our homes. Until now, masks were not mandatory.
So what now? Alot of people are struggling very much during this Pandemic because of the lockdown due to their freedom being taken away from them. What do we do to survive this second wave of covid-19 and the lockdown?
Here are a few ideas that might help you during this lockdown….
Walk around your neighbourhood daily if you can.
Going for a walk is healthy and it clears your mind and relaxes you. It’s great for your health as you are moving your whole body, breathing in fresh air, getting some Vitamin D from the sun and doing your heart a lot of good by walking at least 30 min per day. I don’t know about you but if I stay indoors for too long and don’t go out in fresh air I start feeling restless, down and just miserable.
Try it and you will start feeling more positive and happy within the first 5 min of your walk! I went for a 40 min walk today around my neighbourhood and it was lovely 🙂
Tyding up the garden, caring for plants, Plant some new plants, etc.
Another good and healthy activity is to tidy up your front yard or back yard. When we are not in lockdown, most of us are busy with other activities and don’t really have time to focus on our landscaping in our front yard or back yard, so it starts looking sad and neglected. This lockdown is a great time to take advantage of and clean up our landscaping.
This can be pulling out old or dry bushes, shrubs or plants and replacing them with new ones. You could also re-arrange your landscaping altogether if it hasn’t been done in a long time. It can be a fun DIY project that you can be proud of!
Today I have cleaned some plants in my front yard. I have cleaned underneath them, pulled out the old leaves that were dry and also leaves that fall from the trees on the street in autumn and the wind shoves all these leaves underneath the shrubs and plants. I have filled a large 240Lt green bin with dry leaves from trees and dry leaves from the shrubs themselves. It was very good exercice for me and my brain really loved the fresh air because I was feeling happy and positive while working in the fresh air. Just look at that gorgeous green colour!
Engage in your favorite craft or take up a hobby
A great way to spend time at home (instead of watching TV), is to do craft work or any other hobby you have. This can be playing an instrument as well or start a DIY project. I personally do beading and also diamond dot painting. I also love to play my keyboard. These are great ways to be spending your time and also very rewarding. If you don’t have a hobby then now is the perfect time to start one! Think of something you would really enjoy doing or something you have always wanted to learn to do and just start 🙂 Below is a bracelet I have beaded over the weekend and have to finish it off by adding a clasp.
Another great idea is to take up an online course and use this time to become more knowledgeable. Maybe you always wanted to change your job so now is the time to study in the field that you always wanted to work in?
Maybe you want to start a side gig to earn extra money and now is the time to study Business, Affiliate Marketing, Dropshipping, Digital Advertising, etc.
The key is to always think of the many different things you can do in this lockdown instead of being sad and depressed about the lockdown. It is hard for all of us but we must focus on the positives right now. The positive side of this lockdown is that we have time to do the things we didn’t get to do when everything was open and we were all so busy with work, going out, shopping, travelling, etc.

Hey everyone, I have shared this image of my hearty vegetable soup on my Facebook Fan Page and have been asked to share the recipe 🙂
Being winter here in Australia right now and especially living in Melbourne, it is the perfect season for delicious, warm home made soups!
This veggie soup is loaded with cauliflour, brocoli, cabbage, celery, carrots and onions. The first 3 veggies are cruciferous and therefore very healthy especially for the liver. The cabbage gives this soup a delicious flavour while the crushed tomatoes will give it some zing and delicious flavour.
I usually make this soup off the top of my head and I had to actually sit down and work out exact quantities to come up with a recipe.
Ever since I am 8, I loved to be in the kitchen and help. My great grandma and my grandma never used recipes and my mum used recipes mostly for cakes & desserts. This is why I learned to cook as they did.
I would ask mum for example: “Hey mum, how much cabbage should I add to this soup”? And she would say: ” Just use your imagination and visualise how much would taste and look right” lol … so that is how I have cooked ever since.
So here goes the recipe….
- 2 medium onions finely chopped
- 1 large carrot chopped in small cubes
- 2 stalks celery finely chopped
- 4 medium potatoes cubed into 1cm cubes (or to your liking)
- 1/4 cabbage shredded (not too fine)
- 1 red bell pepper/capsicum
- 2 Lt water
- 4 vegetable stock cubes
- 2-3 level tsp cooking salt (according to your taste)
- 3 cups cauliflour broken into small florets
- 2 cups brocolli broken into small florets
- 1 x 410gr tin of crushed tomatoes
- 4 Tblsp mild olive oil
- 1 handful chopped parsley
Put the 2 Lt of water, stock cubes and salt in a soup pot and turn heat to medium. While it gets hot and starts to simmer prepare your veggies. I always chop my onions, carrot, celery, potatoes and capsicum while the water is getting hot and starts to simmer. Once it starts to simmer and boil, I add my chopped veggies.
After you add the above chopped veggies to the pot, put a lid on and turn the heat down a bit. I don’t put the lid on fully, I like to leave a small open edge on the pot for steam to come out.
While the veggies are cooking in a gentle simmer for about 10 min with lid on, I shred the cabbage and once finished I add it to the soup.
Now that I have added the cabbage, I will simmer for about 5 min with lid on and then add the can of crushed tomatoes. Simmer for another 7-8 min (lid on) and then your soup is done! Turn the heat off, add 4 tablespoons of olive oil and your handful of finely chopped parsley and enjoy!
You can enjoy this soup just as is or if you are fussy like my son you can add 1 tblsp of light sour cream right into the bowl when you serve the soup and just mix it in and enjoy 🙂 and of course, a slice of toasted sour dough or Pane Di Casa bread is a perfect companion.
